Cowichan offers a range of practice opportunities for family physicians: full and part-time longitudinal family practice positions; numerous locuming opportunities; positions within the established Cowichan PCN clinic and, in the near future, a Cowichan UPCC. There are frequently FP-specialty positions on offer through the health authority for those interested in more focused areas of work.
Patients in this collegial, innovative community are served by the Cowichan District Hospital – a new CDH is actively under construction! The hospital is complemented by two urgent care centres, 17 family practice clinics, and the Cowichan PCN. As a community with FP-provided inpatient care, there are plenty of opportunities for hospital work, supported by funded mentorship program operating in partnership with UBC. Cowichan is also home to a dedicated FP-run maternity clinic that frequently has opportunities.
